May 25, 2017: International Kid's Drawings Exhibition Opened at Taganrog Chekhov Public Library within the framework of the project
"The Heritage of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the modern world". It was organized by Taganrog Seraphima Blonskaya Art School, Taganrog Municipal School no. 5, Taganrog Foreign Relations Office, "Hristo Botev" Elementary School from Plovdiv, Bulgaria and the artist Tatiana Borisenkova from Lugansk (Lugansk Peoples' Republic).
The event was attended by monk-priest German, who represented Russian Orthodox Church and guests from Germany -
delegation of "Forum Russische Kultur Gütersloh", representatives of Taganrog Local Government and general public. School children of Taganrog Municipal School no. 5 performed Russian, Ukrainian, Byelorussian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Macedonian and Montenegrin folk songs and dances.
The project developed by Taganrog Foreign Relations Office and Taganrog School No. 5 became international in 2013. Its subject scope is very wide, ranging from Christianity to linguistics. The forms of participation have been also very different: drawings, photographs, essays, research studies, scenarios of Saints Cyril and Methodius' Day Celebrations, videoconferencing ("video bridge"), and many more. Ten foreign countries have participated in the project: Austria, Bulgaria (cities of
Cherven Bryag, Plovdiv, Sophia and Shumen), Byelorussia, Ukraine (from
Mariupol and both of self-proclaimed republics), Germany, Macedonia, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Ukraine and United States of America.
