February 13, 2021: a press conference dedicated to development of Taganrog as a tourist destination was held by Governor Vasily Golubev. Rostov Oblast Minister of Culture of Anna Dmitrieva presented upcoming and ongoing cultural and educational events. Among them is scientific conference "Peter's Assembly", commemorating the 350th birthday of Peter the Great. It will be held on the premises of Taganrog Group of Museums. Additionally, the Ministry of Culture of Rostov Oblast will be a co-executor of the international theatre festival "In the Home City of Anton Chekhov", which will be held at Taganrog Chekhov Drama Theater.

Taganrog will also hold all the usual activities to commemorate the birthday of Anton Chekhov and different outdoor exhibitions in the run-up to the International Museum Day.

Besides, there are plans to create a new exhibition at the museum of local lore and history (Alferaki Palace) as well as a permanent exhibition at Pavel Chekhov's house.
