May 16, 2022: as it was announced earlier, Rostselmash Plant confirmed
its willingness to manufacture not only combine-harvesters and agricultural machines, but also refuse collection and street-cleaning vehicles, using the remaining infrastructure of Taganrog's defunct automotive assembly plant TagAZ
The foundation stone of the new plant was laid in Taganrog on May 13. The ceremony brought together Rostov Oblast Governor Vasily Golubev, who visited the city within the framework of a working trip; Dmitry Udras, member of the board of directors of the company Novoe Sodruzhestvo; and Alexander Vinogradov, Director General of Rostselmash's unit for towed vehicles and attachable equipment.
The new plant is to be set up on the basis of the former Taganrog Combine-Harverster Plant. Its construction will be led by Klever Limited Company, a branch of Rostselmash. The plan is to occupy the total area of 70 hectares gradually, with the growth of production output. In particular, the agricultural machinery plant will produce forage harvesters, tillage machinery, grain-processing equipment, spraying devices, and harvester adapters. It is expected that an amount of 1.5 billion roubles will have been invested in the plant by the completion of its construction in 2024.
"This is another step towards the expansion of our national agricultural machinery", said Governor Vasily Golubev.
It was also noted that the plant opens up new horizons in the field of Taganrog's development, such as employment creation, restoration of the old factory buildings together with related infrastructure.
