August 3, 2023: President of Taganrog City Council and City Executive Inna Titarenko took part in a humanitarian mission by granting several hundred books on behalf of Taganrog. Among the volumes, there were ones printed by Taganrog-based "Lukomorie" Publishing House, and also books collected by librarians of Rostov-on-Don.

Inna Titarenko was accompanied by the editorial director of "Lukomorie" Inna Mikhailova and the correspondent of "Taganrogskaya Pravda" newspaper Yevgeny Butylin.

The donation is especially important in the light of a forthcoming academic year. Since Mariupol's librarians managed to save from bombings and fires not more than 7,000 out of 100,000 volumes, further book donations are expected.

"We, the people of Taganrog, were especially pleased that among the books saved in Mariupol were the volumes of our great townsman Anton Chekhov," said Inna Titarenko.
