May 28, 2020: The
International Children's Art Contest "Anton Chekhov and Characters of his Works" was held for the tenth time in the city of Taganrog.
In 2020, 1680 artworks from Russia and 39 world countries were received by the organizers of the Chekhov Art Contest: Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Peoples' Republic of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan), Czech Republic, Donetsk Peoples' Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mexico, Moldova, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, United States of America and Uzbekistan.
The Grand Prize was awarded to Diana Skatova (aged 13) from the city of Omsk, Russia for her work "After the Play".
Young artists from Albania, Argentina, Armenia, Canada, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Turkey and Qatar took part for the very first time, bringing the overall number of participant countries to 62.
