September 8, 2023: First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin and Deputy Rostov Oblast Governor Alexander Skryabin visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip to the city.
As usual, Andrey Yatskin paid particular attention to the current status of Taganrog's
urban revitalization program. For example, he evaluated the ongoing improvements of Oak Grove ("Dubki") as a part of the program.
"On behalf of Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, we keep the reconstruction of this area under control. The work is nearing completion, and I am satisfied with the results - the way alleys are paved, lights are done, the bed of the tributary Bolshaya Cherepakha is cleaned, new trees are planted. So far, there are not enough playgrounds, given that an increasing number of families with children comes to the park," said First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council.
Andrey Yatskin visited Bankovskaya Square and examined
the damaged building of the Taganrog Museum of Art. He pointed out that specialists from the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg will be helping with
restoration of the damaged paintings.
During his visit, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council held a meeting with the rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko. They discussed support for advanced engineering schools, further development of the university in Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog, improvement of the student campus, and cooperation with enterprises.
