May 23, 2021: the First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Andrey Yatskin visited Taganrog within the framework of a working trip. The guest inspected sites being refurbished, such as Dubki Grove, Pushkinskaya Embankment, Gorky Park, and a section of tram network on Lenin Street, accompanied by Taganrog City Manager Andrei Lisitsky and President of Taganrog City Council (Duma) and City Executive Inna Titarenko.


The senator commended the unique spirit of Taganrog as well as the potential to grow into an international tourist destination. "Implementing this goal will require intensive work, modernization of urban environments, while at the same time preserving its unique historical environment," Andrey Yatskin said.

He underlined that a first step towards achievement of the goal will be the renovation of Taganrog public transport, initiated by Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
