October 10-12 in the city of Sebastopol (Ukraine) with the assistance of the
IBSC Executive Directorate was held the 19th Assembly of IBSC.
International Black Sea Club is a non-governmental voluntary organization, created to strengthen business and cultural cooperation between the port cities of the Black Sea basin countries. The Club consists of 24 cities from 9 Black Sea countries.
In the Assembly meeting participated representatives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Romania, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Trans-Dniestria.
The following issues have been considered during the Assembly: the reports on the Club's activity for the period 2005-2008; the President's and his Executive Directorate's work; considerations of the Club's plans and initiatives for the next year; the affiliation of new Club's members (Rostov on Don, Russia).
The main event of the 19th
IBSC Assembly was the new IBSC President's election for the period 2008-2011. The mayor of Kavala (Greece) Kostis Simitsis has been elected the new
International Black Sea Club President. The President of the
TICCI Alexander Amerkhanov has been reelected President of the IBSC Business Council.
The next
IBSC Assembly meeting will be held in Batumi, Georgia in May 2009.
